The Pacifica Girls Softball League’s Mission is to provide an opportunity for girls ages 4-14 to play softball in a positive, fair, instructional and safety-oriented environment with an emphasis on the development of qualities such as leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, citizenship and friendship with mindful adherence to the Code of Ethics of USA Softball.
SPRING RECREATIONAL PLAY:
The Spring season is the main programming for the year. It runs from January for player evaluations until the season ends with playoffs & championship games and our Annual Picnic in May. Everyone plays!
SUMMER TOURNAMENT PLAY:
The Summer season consists of teams formed for the purpose of competing in weekend tournaments (4-6 games per tournament). There are typically tryouts for this season and the formation of teams depends on the availability of coaches.
FALL RECREATIONAL PLAY:
The Fall season is a recreational program in which the players typically play up to the level that they will be in during Spring of the following year. The goal of this is get experience at the next level and be ready for Spring. Everyone plays, however, the formation of teams depends on the availability of coaches.
First, Welcome! We have new families and players who join all the time and your question is not uncommon. Once registered, your daughter will need the following:
- Glove
- Rubber cleats (soccer cleats, OK)
- Protective face mask
- Softball pants (coach will let you know what color)
- Visor/Sunglasses
- Water to stay hydrated
League registration pays for a team jersey, visor, and photos.
We also encourage but don't require, your child to have her own ASA-approved helmet and/or bat.
That's awesome! We encourage all parents and friends who have knowledge, skill & a positive attitude to work with our players to volunteer. After completing a background check and USA Softball Certification, you are good to go! Please see the instructions and expectations below:
In addition to on field volunteers, we are always looking for parents to help with the MANY activities involved with running and promoting PGSL!

We ask for volunteers every year. Please let us know if you are interested in volunteering your time.

Pacifica Girls Softball League has NEVER refused a player without the financial resources to play softball. Your donations support our mission to foster a love of the game, offer quality instruction and make softball accessible to all girls in our community.
