Divisions of play / age groups

PGSL AGES

Players are evaluated before the season and placed in a division that best matches their age, skill, and experience.  The number of divisions and teams each season is based on the number of girls of an age group registered. In some years, age groups may be combined in order to create enough teams, but never to the detriment of player safety.

For spring recreational ball, we offer 6U, through 14U programming.  Player evaluations are conducted and teams are formed in January, practices commence in early February, games are from early March through late April, and playoffs are in early May.

For summer tournament and recreational ball, we offer 8U, through 14U programming.  Tournament teams are composed of interested all stars from spring and recreation team opportunities are available to interested players.

For fall recreational ball, player we offer 8U through 14U programming.  Player evaluations are conducted and teams are formed in mid-August, practices commence shortly thereafter, Sunday games are from early March through early November, and playoffs are in mid-November.

8U and 10U Teams

We introduce the concept of team play while still emphasizing basic fundamentals.  In these divisions, many players also learn how to pitch and catch.  Games have professional umpires.

For our older and more experienced players.  Core fundamentals are still stressed with base running and outfield play also given importance at this level as many players are getting ready to compete at the high school level.  Games are umpired by professional umpires.
